Contact Sgt. Goins for more information on the following Senior programs.

OPERATION SENIOR:
A program of scheduled visits to area senior citizen apartments, meal sites and centers that involves discussions about crime prevention issues and how they relate to senior citizens.

"I LIVE ALONE":
A program of daily telephone calls, made by volunteers from the offices of Senior Services, Plus.  Calls are made to senior citizens, who live by themselves, to check on their wellbeing.  It is intended to give its participants the assurance that if they ever need help, it will reach them quickly.  Done in cooperation with the Alton Police Department and Senior Services, Plus.

SENIOR LOCK-UP:
A program of securing the homes of qualifying senior citizens. This program, financed through a grant received by Senior Services, Plus, involves the installation of dead bolt locks and other securing devices, free of charge.  Candidates for the program are obtained through the Alton Police Department.  A security survey, done by a Police Officer, is required to determine the amount of security hardware needed.

OPERATION SCAMS: SENIOR CASH ALERT MONITORING SYSTEM:
A program intended to reduce the loss of large sums of money to fraud and con artists.  OPERATION SCAMS is a prevention and intervention initiative.
