K9 Units

Building/Area Searches: Both the Alton Police K-9 Units are trained in building searches. A building search is usually conducted when a door is found open in a large house or building. The dog is usually able to find someone who may be hidden in a house or building faster then me or you. Plus depending on the circumstance, it may be safer to allow the dog to search the area, rather then another officer.
